A Five-Case Lacquer Inro
Edo period (18th century), signed Kanshosai and with kao (cursive monogram)
Designed in silver, red, gold and black togidashi with a Katsukawa Shunsho image of Ichikawa Danjuro V in "Shibaraku," inscribed Shunsho zu at the right, the reverse with the circular prawn crest of the Ichikawa family in red takamaki-e, the background roiro-nuri, the top and bottom of the inro decorated with the mimasu crest of the Ichikawa family in gold hiramaki-e; interior cases nashiji; fitted with a coral bead ojime and a wood manju netsuke with a squid in raised silver and brown lacquer, signed Kansai in gold lacquer
