Lot Essay

Born in 1959 and a student of ceramics at Seoul University, the potter had an one-person exhibition at the Tong-In Gallery, New York in 2004. He is currently an associate professor at Chung Ang University College of Arts. Inspired by the traditional beauty of Choson-period white porcelain, Lee reinterprets its aesthetic quality in a modernistic manner and demonstrates with great clarity the uniqueness of Korean white porcelain.
