with rising concave-sided pediment above the break arch hood, with plain pilasters, glazed panels to the sides, the trunk with arched panelled door, on stepped plinth, the brass dial with foliate spandrels, silvered chapter ring, recessed seconds dial and calendar aperture to the matted centre with plaque signed Richd Marsh WATFORD, Strike/Silent ring flanked by spandrels in the arch above, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 90in.(228cm.) high
