CIRCA 200-250 A.D., NORTH AFRICAN
With two low relief appliqués of a crouching hound and a leaping stag, with a palm-branch between, and two 'v'-shaped foliate motifs, 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) high; a similar pottery oil lamp, with walking bird and geometric motifs around the pierced tondo, 2nd-3rd Century A.D., 5¼ in. (13.5 cm.) long; a rim fragment with the moulded figure of a running bear, circa 1st Century A.D.; and four other red slip ware rim fragments with various appliqué animals including a fish, lions, hound and boar, all circa 2nd-3rd Century A.D., 6 in. (15 cm.) long max. (7)
