Lot Essay

Dudley Hardy was a prolific artist, exhibiting regularly at the Royal Academy from 1884 until 1922. His choice of subject matter is very varied and range from Oriental to Breton genre scenes. He was a socially engaged artist and some of his work betrays a political undercurrent.
