A 19th-Century lacquered-brass swinging-arm protractor,
unsigned, with central aperture with alignment mark, silvered circumference scale with twin verniers (blackened) on the alidade arm with swinging pointers, with fine-screw adjustment and clamp, in a green baize-lined brass-bound mahogany case -- 18.4cm. (7¼in.) wide; a 6-inch diameter electrum protractor, by ELLIOT BROS LONDON, with two sets of scales, in a blue plush-lined mahogany case -- 17.3cm. (6¾in.) wide; and a good electrum sector rule, signed Elliot & Sons 56 Strand London, with scales for 2, 3 and 6 inches to the mile, and 8 and 6 miles to the inch, in a blue plush-lined mahogany case -- 37cm. (14½in.) wide
