signed JOHN CRAICH ALLOA, the 7-inch diameter glazed compass with silvered dial, wind rose, bubble level, blued-iron needle and double circumference scale, the brass cap with a partial links of chain scale, the brass mount with two detachable sights and staff mounting, with an empty cylindrical mahogany needle container, in a fitted and brass-bound mahogany case -- 31.4cm. (12 3/8in.) wide
