GLOBUS COELESTIS NOVUS Stellarum fixarum Loca secundum celeberrimi Astronomi Dantiscani IOHANNIS HEVELH, Catalogum ad anum Chr. 1730. compl. sistens, opera IOB. GABR. DOPPELMAIERI, M.P.P. exhiouas Iohuune Georgio Puschneru Calcographo Noribergensi A.C. 1728, made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores laid to the ecliptic poles, the axis through the celestial poles, with graduated ecliptic and equatorial, the the pictorial constellations with stars to six orders of magnitude, many numbered, some with dates (some dirt throughout; very neat but incorrect rewriting to cartouche) with a stamped brass hour dial and meridian ring, the octagonal mahogany horizon with hand-coloured engraved paper graduated in degrees of amplitude and azimuth, days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac, with Saint's Days and wind directions, the corners and border with attractive foliate decoration, raised on four turned legs terminating in bun feet, united by cross stretchers to support the circular base -- 46.4cm. (18¼in.) high
