Lot Essay

The Submariner model was introduced to the market at the Basel Fair in 1954 after having been tested during Professor August Piccard and his son Jacques' world depth record of 10,335 feet or 3,150 meters below the ocean's surface.

The present watch features the desireable red printing SUBMARINER 2000 and is from a small series believed to have been made for the US market.
