Lot Essay

Ludwig Sturm (German 1844-1926) is listed as a professor and as an independent porcelain painter in Dresden. See Robert Röntgen, The Book of Meissen, Atglen, PA, 1996, p.321. It is also likely that this is the same Professor Ludwig Sturm who was the Art Director at Meissen in the late 19th century.
