The indigo field with diagonal rows of floral sprays forming lozenges, in an ivory rosette and iris border between dark brown and brick-red angular floral meander stripes, kilim strip with braided warps at one end, other end border replaced, slight repiling in brown otherwise full pile

Lot Essay

This appears to be a simplified version of the design in lot 387 in this sale. The field is related and the border inherently the same design. Whether the simplicity indicates it is later in date or just made in a more provincial centre but at around the same time is impossible to say for certain.
