Lot Essay

This sword is attributed on the registration document to Ichimonji Norifusa. The shape of the sword is in accordance with the early Kamakura Period, and the choji midare hamon with utsuri supports this attribution. Norifusa was the founder of the Katayama Ichimonji group, who later moved to Bitchu.
