Signed, katana-mei Bungo kuni Yukihira saku, Early Kamakura Period (13th Century)
Sugata [configuration]: honzukuri, iori-mune, deep koshizori, ko-kissaki

Kitae [forging pattern]: ko-itame with jinie, shirake-utsuri

Hamon [tempering pattern]: suguha of moist ko-nie, with habuchi extending to the edge

Boshi [tip]: ko-maru with hakikake

Horimono [carvings]: shin-no-kurikara on tachi-ura, bohi with soehi on omote

Nakago [tang]: suriage, two holes (one plugged)

Habaki [collar]: single, copper-gilt

In shirasaya [plain wood scabbard]: with sayagaki by Sato Kanzan as being handed down from the family of the Imperial Prince Kacho no Miya

Koshirae [mounting]; efu tachi, black lacquered overall, black lacquer leather tsuba, kenuki-gata menuki, Meiji Period, late 19th century, 108cm.

Nagasa [length from tip to beginning of tang]: 73.6cm.

Sori [curvature]: 2.6cm.

Motohaba [width at start of tempered edge]: 2.6cm.

Sakihaba [width before tip]: 1.7cm.
