Of square section, the vase is carved with flanges shaped as bamboo nodules along the corners, the facets on the mid-section carved in low relief with taotie masks, the tall spreading foot and trumpet neck with long lappets enclosing archaistic scrolls and leiwen at the tips, the stone with a slight celadon tinge
