the silvered dial signed and engraved Resprung & Adjusted by John Poole, 57, Fenchurch St. London. 1128 with subsidiary dials for seconds and up/down dials with black steel hands, the movement with spotted plates, chain fusée, Earnshaw-type spring detent escapement, cut bimetallic balance with circular heat compensation weights, brass gimbal and bowl numbered 1128, the brass-bound box with drop handles, vacant ivory cartouche to the top lid, contained within plush-lined outer travelling box with leather strap -- 9in. (23cm.) square approximately
