A PAIR OF RARE FAMILLE JAUNE PEAR-SHAPED BOTTLE VASES
KANGXI (1662-1722)
Each supported on a spreading circular foot, and with a waisted cylindrical neck, enamelled in yellow and pale aubergine in addition to the characteristic green around the body with four large equidistant ruyi-shaped panels, each enclosing a formal lotus, the design similarly repeated within two panels around the neck, separated by bands of lappets and small flowerheads on a granulated ground, all reserved on a diaperwork ground, the bases with a double circle in underglaze blue, one neck and mouth rim restored and with a hairline crack
