TWO INCOMPLETE SPANISH RAPIERS
Each 17th Century
The first with slender tapering blade of flattened hexagonal section inlaid in brass in the single fuller on each side of the forte with the inscription 'Pedero Coeler En Solingen Mi Sinal Son Les Armas Del Re', iron hilt with straight quillions with turned button finials, knuckle-guard en suite and interrupted by a baluster knop, original grip bound with copper wire, and globular pommel (cup missing); the second similar but plainer, with slender blade stamped with the signatue of Clemens Aollich of Solingen, later hilt, and associated pommel (cup missing)
