A SPANISH CUP-HILT RAPIER AND TWO UNITED STATES MILITARY SWORDS
The first last quarter of the 18th Century
The first with slender blade of flattened-diamond section with small ricasso and single fuller on each face, one stamped 'Fabrica De Toledo', the plain iron hilt comprising a plain cup with the upper edge shaped to a tongue curving up on the outside of the hand, slender knuckle-guard, arms and vertically-recurved quillons, globular pommel with prominent button, and wire-bound wooden grip; the other two brass-hilted non-commissioned infantry-officers swords, pattern of 1840, the blades by the Arms Manufacturing Co., Chicopee, 1864, in leather brass-mounted scabbards
