Thomas Sheraton illustrated a related 'Grecian Squab' sofa with palm-wrapped bacchic lion monopodia in his Cabinet Dictionary, 1803 (pl. 49). A closely related sofa, with cable-wrapped frame, was offered at Sotheby's, New York, 17 May 2002, lot 272. Such cabling was also adopted by the Edinburgh cabinet-maker, William Trotter, for 'Grecian' rosewood furniture supplied for Paxton House, Berwickshire (F. Bamford, A Dictionary of Edinburgh Wrights and Furniture-Makers, 1983, pl. 55a).
