A LARGE GUERRERO STONE FIGURE
Late Preclassic, ca. 300-100 B.C.
Of highly distinct type standing on diminutive legs, arms in relief, right hand held to his neck, the left posed to his hip, the massive head with jaw jutting forward, lips parted and deeply rimmed sunken eyes, adorned with a tall, tapering, tiered headdress surmounted by two horns, possibly an indication of a shaman; in white-grey and olive green streaked stone.
