by Jean-François Morand (1781-1793), marked, Paris, 1789/1790, with the charge and discharge marks for small objects of Jean-François Kalendrin 1789-1792, later struck with the Parisian post-Revolutionary unofficial standard mark for 18-carat gold, the miniatures in the manner of Jacques-Joseph de Gault
Octagonal box, the cover, base, sides and corners set with glazed miniatures finely painted en grisaille on a slate grey ground with harvesters and playful children parodying a Bacchanalian procession, framed by gold bands stamped with stylized acanthus, raised plain gold rims
