A PAIR OF GREEK GOLD AND GARNET EARRINGS
HELLENISTIC PERIOD, CIRCA LATE 4TH-EARLY 3RD CENTURY B.C.
Each with a figure of Nike, formed of sheet, wearing a belted peplos with overfold, falling to her feet and billowing slightly, the separately-made wings outstretched behind, with filigree beaded wire along the perimeters, each with a filleted wreath in her right hand, a folding mirror in her left, details with filigree twisted and beaded wires, each suspended from a disk, with a high ear hook on the reverse, the plain disk centered by a beaded circle framing a modern bezel and cabochon garnet
