A SEVRES BLUE-GROUND SHAPED OVAL STAND (PLATEAU OVALE)

The ground reserved at each end with kidney-shaped panels painted with three interwoven garlands of laurel, oak and flowers threaded with crossed garden implements, one end with a rake and cythe, the other with a spade and hoe, within gilt ciselé ribbon-tied band cartouches, divided at the sides by crossed branches of gilt laurel threading through strapwork lozenges issuing foliage scrolls, with further gilt scrolls about the central well, the central circular gilt medallion with a quatrefoil foliate panel of oeil de perdrix ornament centred by a flowerhead, gilt band rim (slight scratching to surface of well, minute wear to gilding at edge of well)
