A Swiss ormolu striking pendule d'officer with calendar and alarm, circa 1800
With typical snake handle and foliate side mounts, the white enamel Arabic dial with outer calendar ring within gilt borders, pierced gilt-metal hands, blued steel arrow calendar and alarm setting hands, single chain fusee for the going train with verge escapement and three arm balance, barrel for the strike train, strikework positioned on the back plate, lacking pull quarter repeat train, with pull wind alarm, with four hammers on two bells, stamped 7487 -- 7½in. (19cm.) high to fold of handle
