A Victorian rosewood mantel regulator, circa 1870
The drum case with scroll sides and with concave-moulded base raised on brass bracket feet, the circular silvered Roman dial signed JOS.H LUCAS/59 Kings Road/CHELSEA, blued steel heart and baton hands, sweep seconds, the eight day single chain fusee movement with deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, with four pillars and rectangular plates, the back plate with silvered minutes disc calibrated at intervals of 10, secured to the seatboard with brackets, the wood rod pendulum with heavy brass bob and calibrated rating nut -- 19in. (48cm.) high
