An English carved oak longcase clock
The hood with swan neck cresting and outset front fluted columns, with reeded pilasters to the trunk, the plinth with raised panel and wavy skirting, the 12¼in. square cut-away brass dial with foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed E. SAGAR MIDLEHAM, the silvered and engraved centre with subsidiary seconds and date rings, blued steel hands, now with later arch applied with a silvered plaque inscribed Tempus fugit, the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on later gong; associated, case late 18th century, dial and movement 19th century -- 92in.
