A George II oak thirty-hour longcase clock, mid 18th century
The hood with arched cresting and outset front-reeded columns, rectangular trunk door, on stepped plinth, the 11¾in. square brass dial with female mask and foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers and signed Benjamin Shuckforth/DISS, the matted centre with engraving around the date aperture, single blued steel hand, the posted frame movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel strike on bell -- 75¼in. (191cm.) high
