The case with brass pineapple finial to the fluted top, ripple cornices, with brass loop handles above silk-backed tracery sound frets, fielded brass panels and brass inlays to the front, on ball feet, the white painted Roman dial with blued steel hands, signed BROMPTON, the eight day twin wire fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell, trip repeat, arched plates joined by five pillars with foliate scroll engraved border to back plate with pendulum holdfast -- 19½in. (48cm.) high
