The 1¼in. wide Roman chapter ring with trident half hour markers, the dial plate engraved with thistles, with central alarm-setting disc and single iron hand, signed along the front fret Thomas Wheeler London, the one day movement with verge escapement and divided trains for centre swinging pendulum, the side doors now with 'wings', with countwheel strike, alarm train positioned on the back plate -- 15in. (38cm.) high
