ASTESANUS DE AST (fl. 1st half of 14th century). Summa de casibus conscientiae, edited by Bartholomaeus de Bellatis and Gometius de Ulixbona. Venice: Johannes de Colonia and Johannes Manthen, 18 March 1478.
Books I-IV and tabula only, super-chancery 2° (299 x 192mm). Gothic type, double column, one large illuminated floral initial decorated in gold and colours by late 15th-century North-East Italian artist, initials supplied alternately in red and blue, printed headlines giving book and title-numbers. (Lacking all between book V and tabula, occasional light spotting, a little light marginal dampstaining towards the end.) Contemporary blind-tooled calf over bevelled wooden boards (rebacked, edges repaired, lacking clasps and bosses, worn with some loss).
