Chancery 2° (266 x 195mm). Gothic type, colophon and printer's device in red, initial spaces. (Preliminaries bound in at end, S3 and S4 misbound, a few marginal repairs and wormholes, a little light browning, first and last leaf slightly soiled.) 18th-century olive-green morocco backed, spine blindtooled and gilt (worn at extremities). Provenance: contemporary owner's inscription (A1) -- bookplate (with the motto: 'groeninghe velt') -- bookplate (with the initials 'CH' and the motto 'quaero').
Although bearing a printed date of 1475, Ther Hoernen's Augustinus de Ancona can be securely dated to one year later based on its state of type and paper stocks. HC 961; BMC I, 205; GW 3051; Goff A-1364.
