Chancery 2° (289 x 190mm). Roman type, initial spaces, most with guide-letter, flourished Lombard initials, rubricated. (Without final blank, repairs to gutters affecting a few initial flourishes, occasional light soiling.) 19th-century vellum boards. Provenance: some 16th-century marginalia (cropped) and headlines -- John Wickham Legg (1886 inscription) -- Eric Sexton (bookplate; sale Christie's, New York, 8 April 1981, lot 98) -- Ned J. Nakles (sale Christie's New York, 17 April 2000, lot 147).
