(a1.8 neatly guarded, a few small wormholes, affecting a few letters.) 19th-century blind-tooled tan pigskin, marbled endpapers and edges. Provenance: scattered marginalia in an early hand -- 19th-century bibliographical note in German on front flyleaf -- H.F. Norman (bookplate; sale Christie's New York, 18 March 1998, lot 191).
