Royal 2° (398 x 280mm). Gothic type, double column, first initial illuminated by a contemporary German artist in punched gold on blue ground with white foliate scrolls within pink and green frame, other initials in red or blue, paragraph marks and capital strokes in red. (Faint dampstain in lower margin, some marginal worming in first and final leaves, very small puncture in first 3 leaves.) Contemporary Nuremberg blind-tooled calf over thick unbevelled wooden boards, by Kyriss shop 118 (Bogenfries): border of rosettes and Laubstab, central panel of trellis pattern with pomegranates or diapered and with griffin tool, title tooled on upper cover, old paper spine label (rather worn, lacking centre and cornerpiece bosses and fore-edge clasps).
