ROLEWINCK, Werner (1425-1502). Fasciculus Temporum. Venice: Georgius Walch, 1479.
Chancery 2° (294 x 205mm). Gothic type, woodcut initials, woodcuts and woodcut diagrams, index rubricated. (Last two leaves slightly discoloured and restored, touching a little text, marginal repair to leaf 9). Modern paper boards reusing old German printed leaf. Provenance: contemporary inscription identifies Rolewinck as the compilor, a few annotations -- 'Duplum' and shelfmark in 19th-century hand on flyleaf -- library stamps removed from second, fifth and final leaves.
FIRST EDITION PRINTED IN ITALY of Rolewinck's popular universal history. Walch's edition, one of only four attributed to him, contains the FIRST PRINTED VIEW OF VENICE. HC *6924; BMC V, 274; Sander 6525; Goff R-260.
