CIRCA 1725, THE DECORATION ALMOST CONTEMPORARY
Decorated in the Auffenwerth workshop in Purpurmalerei and Eisenrot, probably by Johann Auffenwerth, the teabowl with vignettes of Cupid with a bow and arrow, blindfolded and with a torch, the saucer with an allegorical vignette of a maiden and a putto, within gilt shaped quatrefoil cartouches issuing scrolls, the points surmounted by birds, below a gilt border suspending pendant scrolls and flowerheads (teabowl with two small restored rim chips and very slight wear to gilt rim)
