A LUDWIGSBURG MINIATURE GROUP OF DICE-PLAYERS
CIRCA 1765, BLUE CROWNED INTERLACED LS MONOGRAM, PAINTER'S RED S MARK FOR SAUSENHOFER, INCISED ZS no 1 Cee6 (?)
Modelled with three figures standing around a rectangular table, each leaning forwards slightly engaged in playing a game with dice and a circular green board with gilt counters, the moustachioed man on the right holding a beaker, his three thrown dice before him, on a rectangular plinth base modelled and painted to simulate paving in shades of brown, ochre and olive green (minute chip to tricorn hat, small chip to rear left corner of table, both black hats with flaking to enamel and with slight over-painting probably to disguise flaking, moustache possibly with minute chipping)
