Modelled by J.P. Melchior with a girl kneeling on a grassy knoll and leaning forward to garland a sleeping boy with flowers, with plaited hair and a small turquoise-edged puce hat, a puce flowered white blouse and striped skirt, the boy in a languid pose before an urn on a stone plinth, his hat tipped back off his head, wearing a puce jacket and breeches, a satchel and gilt-tipped hoe at his feet and his dog at his shoulder, on a large grassy mound base with rocks (dog's head restuck, restoration and damage to foliage in vase and her hat, filled crack to her left wrist, minute chipping to footrim, areas of slight sanding)
