CIRCA 1760, BLUE SHIELD MARKS, EACH IMPRESSED P, INDISTINCT DECORATOR'S MARKS
Modelled as a pilgrim and a lady holding a chess board, the pilgrim in a short cape with shells sewn to it, a pale-yellow coat and breeches, holding a book, his hat and a purse, a gourd suspended from a red strap at his side, standing before a tree stump, the lady wearing a neck scarf, a pink flowered bodice, a pale-yellow lined apron decorated with iron-red sprigs and a pink skirt, holding a chess board before her, each on shaped mound bases edged with gilt scrolls (small chip to buckle of his purse and her left thumb, minute chip to one corner of chess board)
