This dresser has a maker's rubber stamp applied twice on top of the base beneath the upper section which reads 'D. James Cabinet Maker, upholsterer & Picture Frame Maker, Dealer in Glass, Mouldings and Pictures, 3 Bridge Street, Lampeter'. It is very unusual to find maker-provenanced Welsh furniture.
