ALBERT ODMARK NOTES
Bought Christie's, 17 June, 1986, lot 161.

Watches by E. Howard & Co. with Cole's escapement are rare. The resilient lever escapement was one of James Ferguson Cole's inventions of the mid 19th Century with an unusual banking system. Although Cole did not use it often, Edward Howard made about 800 watches with this escapement.
