A silver oval watch case with earlier movement
Probably 19th Century
The front cover with square five-piece hinge, chased and engraved with a winged female figure and mythical birds in foliage and scrollwork, the reverse with a grotesque masque and ornate monogram in a cartouche with foliate surround, the band pierced, chased and engraved with animals of the hunt, ornate pendant and bottom finial, the dial plate similarly engraved with female figures, winged creatures and animals of the forest, with floral and scroll design, the centrefield with two winged figures and a dog, raised silver chapter ring with Roman numerals, inner quarter hour ring and half-hour marks, (later) blued steel hand, now containing a 19th Century restoration of an old movement, inscribed Johann Schellhorn, Minden
