The oval brass plates with silvered alarm set chapter ring to the top plate flanked by two brass pillars with steel arbor bridge carrying the silk-wound brass pear-shaped weight, the alarm striking on an upturned bell via brass clapper secured to the steel arbor; with the original oval tin travelling case
