A Louis Philippe ormolu and Griotte marble weight-driven mantle regulator
Lepine, Paris. Circa 1835
The case with bevelled glasses, ormolu concave-moulded bezel to the circular engraved silvered regulator dial signed LEPINE A PARIS, ormolu Breguet-style hands, the substantial movement with four conical pillars secured with blued steel nuts to the front and back plates, half-second Vulliamy-type deadbeat escapement with jewelled pallets, high count train, Harrison's maintaining power, the movement driven from a single barrel powered by two gilt brass-cased weights hanging from pulleys either side of the movement, the gridiron five-rod pendulum with rating nut above the bob
