The case with foliate cast S-form handle secured to the repoussé basket top, the glazed sides with applied silk-backed repoussé mounts, brass button feet, the 7 in. sq. dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with finely pierced blued steel hands, the matted centre with ringed winding hole, decorated mock pendulum and calendar apertures, signed Joseph Windmills on the mock pendulum aperture, winged cherub spandrels, the four pillar single gut fusee movement with reconverted verge escapement, pull quarter repeat on two bells via rack system planted on the frontplate, silvered alarm disc in the matted centre, the backplate profusely engraved with tight scrolling foliage, signed Jos: Windmills London within a strapwork-engraved border surmounted by a basket of flowers; case and movement associated
