HOLLANDER VON BERAU, Tobias -- Catalogus Instructissimae Bibliothecae, viri clarissimi D.T.H. á B. Consulis inclytae urbis Schaffhusianae. No place, no date [Schaffhausen (?), not before 1754].

8o (157 x 86 mm). Modern half calf.

This Swiss library catalogue appears to be unrecorded. The library was for sale (probably at auction), as is made clear by a printed note at the foot of the last page, stating that with it is also offered a collection of medals "Bey dieser Bibliothec is auch zu verkauffen ein schöner Thelautus von Medaillien." The earliest book is dated 1489 (p. 6), the latest 1754 (p. 54). A contemporary note at the foot of the title reveals the owner's initials as those of "Domini Tobiae Hollanderi à Berau." Hollander von Berau published in 1699 a work concerning astronomical problems Amaltheum astronomicum. His numismatic collection of classical coins, probably the one mentioned at the end of the above catalogue, was described by Johann Scheuzer in Thesaurus Numismatum Antiquorum Hollanderianus Zurich, 1717.
