GEELHAND, DE MERXEN -- Catalogue d'une très-belle collection ... delaissi par feu Monsieur Geelhand, de Merxem &c. Antwerp: Hubertus Bincken, 1790.
8o (208 x 130 mm). Original plain wrappers (later stitching).
In this unusual catalogue, the auctioneer proposes to conduct the sale in reverse order, starting with the last lot and finishing with the first: "on commencera la Vente par le dernier Nombre ... en retrogradant jusqu'au premier," presumably in an attempt to focus the buyers' attention first on the less important octavo and quarto items before arriving at the more costly folios. Bincken held numerous sales in Antwerp between 1754 and 1806. PRICED in a contemporary hand.
