Sri Lankan artist George Keyt's rendition of the female form drew inspiration from the Sanskrit poetry of Kalidasa, the early cave paintings of Sigiri, sculpture from the regions of Karla and Mathura as well as from works of modern masters like Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Ferdinand Leger.
