WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
The globular body decorated with two dragons racing amidst clouds in pursuit of flaming pearls, below a band of pendent leaf tips and narrow bands of key fret and foliate scroll on the trumpet-shaped neck, with a band of lingzhi scroll on the inside of the mouth rim, all in underglaze blue, iron red and green and yellow enamel

Lot Essay

Wucai zhadou appear to be quite rare, however, another similarly decorated example of this size, was sold in our London rooms, 19 April 1983, lot 391.
