Unsigned, with shumei attribution to Kaneuji, Edo period (19th century)
Shobuzukuri, iori-mune configuration with high shinogi; forging pattern ko-itame jinie; tempered edge gunome-midare of ko-nie, tobiyaki and kinsuji; tang ubu with three holes (one plugged) and kiri file marks
41.8cm. long; curvature 0.6cm.; width at start of tempered edge 2.8cm.
In shirasaya [a plain wood scabbard] with an attribution inscription by Homma Junji (Kunzan) at the request of Aoyama Kokichi
With black-lacquer modern koshirae with shakudo ishimeji fuchi-kashira with an eagle and monkey in a cave; fine gold menuki of a tiger in bamboo; tsuba and kozuka now lost; 68.5cm. long
